Studio in Bianco begins with a question most design practices skip: how do you want this room to make you feel? Aesthetics matter deeply to us. But when a room is also designed for how your body responds to it, something remarkable happens. Every visual decision lands with more clarity, more presence, more intention. This conviction sits at the centre of everything we do. We call it the space in between. The distance between what a room shows you and what it does to you. A beautifully furnished room can leave you restless, and you may never understand why. A much simpler room can settle your whole nervous system the moment you walk in, and you won't be able to explain that either. When a space is designed for both, you feel the difference before you see it. Understanding this comes from thirty years of physiotherapy. Annie learned to read what the mind is telling you and what the body needs, often before you can articulate either. That same instinct now shapes the way she works in every room. She listens to what you want, feels what the space requires, and brings the two together until the balance is exactly right. She does it through attention, instinct, and three elements that form the foundation of everything Studio in Bianco creates.
LIGHT
The very first thing the body reads before the mind even notices the space. Through deliberate balance and layering, light turns a room into a sensory experience — one that feels warm, alive, and effortless to exist in.
We begin every project with light because it determines everything that follows. How a room feels in the morning is different from how it feels at four in the afternoon, and both are different again after dark. We work with all three, layering natural light with ambient warmth and considered accent until a room stops being a space you're in and becomes one that holds you.
The first thing a room says to you, before a single word is spoken.
HOW WE WORK
LIVING BOTANICAL
Something remarkable happens when a living thing is placed in a room with real intention. The air shifts, the scale softens, and a quality of presence arrives that the body recognises before the mind can name it. It is the closest a designed space comes to feeling truly inhabited.
We treat botanicals with the same weight as furniture or art. Every species is chosen for what it brings to a room spatially, not decoratively. A botanical in the right position softens hard architectural lines, changes how a room breathes, and introduces a quality of life that no amount of beautiful objects can substitute.
Something alive, placed with intention, that changes how a room breathes.
Every project is different. The process is always the same.
The First Conversation
Everything begins with a visit to your space. We walk through it with you, pay attention to what the room is already telling us both, and leave you with a written summary of what we see and what we'd recommend. If it feels right to continue, we'll know, and so will you.
The Brief
We spend time understanding not just your space but your life in it. How you move through the rooms, what time of day matters most, which pieces you love and which are ready to go. The brief is never assumed. It is built together.
Design Direction
We present one cohesive proposal that reflects everything we've heard, seen, and felt. The palette, the furniture direction, the lighting plan, and how light, living botanicals, and art come together across every room. We present in person, in the space itself wherever possible, because a room teaches you things a screen cannot.
Installation
This is the day the room becomes what it was always meant to be. Every piece placed, every botanical positioned, every artwork hung, every detail managed from sourcing through to final placement. When you walk in, everything settles. The balance is there. The warmth is there. The room already feels like yours.
This is how we see every space. Yours is next.
Whether you are just beginning to think about what your home could feel like, or you already know and need someone who sees it the way you do, it starts the same way. A conversation.

ART
The most personal decision in any room. A considered piece does not decorate a wall — it anchors the feeling of a space, holds the eye where it needs to rest, and makes a room unmistakably someone's.
We never select art without understanding the person who will live with it. A piece that means something to the client, placed where it can do its best work, transforms a designed room into one that could only belong to them. Art is the final layer, the one that closes the distance between a room that is considered and a room that is lived in.
The layer where a space stops being designed and starts being someone's.
